In many South Asian cultures, the saree was once an everyday garment - woven into daily life rather than reserved for special occasions. Founded by Sri Lankan-Australian designers Minuri and Naomi, Tissa reimagines the saree for modern life and formalwear through thoughtfully designed pre-draped sets that honour tradition while embracing contemporary ease.
The name Tissa - a Sinhala name meaning strength, grounding and legacy - reflects the heart of the brand's vision. By blending heritage with modern design and producing in small quantities with a woman-owned manufacturer in Delhi, each piece reflects a slow, intentional approach to craftwomanship and creates a space for a new generation of women to embrace the strength and identity found in their culture.
